Chhattisgarh state



Chhattisgarh is a state in central India, with an area of 1,35,361 square kilometers. According to Census 2011, the population of Chhattisgarh state is 2,55,45,198.

Excise Department


Excise Department holds an important place among the revenue earning departments of Chhattisgarh state. This department receives revenue from excise head.

Main functions of Excise Department:-

  • Under the Excise Act, on receiving information about cases of illegal liquor manufacturing, illegal transportation, illegal sale, illegal possession, conducting searches and registering cases for irregularities found, imposing recovery amount/penalty in departmental cases and adjudicating judicial cases in the competent court.
